This site is operated by Komodo Luxury — an Indonesian liveaboard operator founded in 2015, part of Juara Holding Group Limited, licensed under KBLI 79120 and based in Denpasar, Bali. Our owned luxury phinisi fleet currently includes:
- Komodo Signature – premium-phinisi liveaboard
- Komodo Prestige – premium-phinisi liveaboard
Komodo Luxury is a TripAdvisor Travelers’ Choice 2022, 2023, 2024 and 2025 awardee. We specialise in private charters and scheduled cruises across Komodo, Raja Ampat and eastern Indonesia. Lombok and the Gili Islands are our specialist gateway: we convert day divers into liveaboard guests on longer routes through Bali, Sumbawa, Komodo, Labuan Bajo and Raja Ampat.
What to Include in Your Lombok & Liveaboard Enquiry
To match you to the right dive plan and give a realistic, indicative quote, please include as much of the following as possible:
1. Travel dates and flexibility
- Exact dates or at least month/year.
- Flexibility: “±3 days”, “any week in August”, “only school holidays”.
- Region by season: for example:
- Lombok & Gilis: generally diveable year-round; best surface conditions usually around April–November.
- Belongas Bay & The Magnet: hammerhead chances typically higher July–September; sea state can be rough.
- Komodo: dive cruises typically operate year-round, with different sectors favoured by season.
- Raja Ampat: peak liveaboard season usually October–April.
All seasons are indicative; exact conditions vary year-to-year.
2. Certification level and recent experience
Tell us:
- Your highest certification (e.g. Open Water, Advanced Open Water, Rescue, Deep, Nitrox).
- Number of logged dives and when you last dived.
- Any current limits: comfort depth, currents, negative entries, night dives.
- Who’s diving: mixed levels, juniors (10–14 years), snorkellers only.
We recommend:
- Gili Islands & easy Lombok reefs: suitable for beginners and rusty divers, usually from Open Water upwards.
- Belongas Bay / The Magnet & strong Komodo currents: for advanced, current-experienced divers only, and only in suitable conditions. We will not recommend these for beginners or low recent experience.
Safety and honest matching come first. If your experience does not match a requested site, we will suggest alternatives.
3. Region, route and trip style
In your message, please specify:
- Region(s) of interest: Lombok, Gili Islands, Bali, Sumbawa, Komodo, Labuan Bajo, Raja Ampat, or a combination.
- Trip type:
- Day diving from Lombok or the Gilis.
- Introductory / refresher diving in Lombok or the Gilis.
- Liveaboard cruise – cabin on a scheduled Komodo Luxury departure.
- Private liveaboard charter – full-boat charter on Komodo Signature or Komodo Prestige.
- Focus: general reef diving, big pelagics (mantas, sharks), macro/photography, family-friendly, honeymoon, or mixed group.
4. Group size and composition
Please include:
- Number of certified divers.
- Number of non-divers / snorkellers.
- Ages of any children or juniors.
- Any special requirements: private guide, language needs, dietary preferences, mobility considerations.
This helps us match you to the right vessel, cabin configuration and guide-to-diver ratio.
5. Budget & comfort level
We quote per trip, but rough guidelines (last verified June 2026, always by enquiry):
- Gili/Lombok day diving: typically from mid-range upwards for reputable operators with safe boats and gear.
- Komodo Luxury scheduled cruises (per person, sharing): usually mid–upper range for Indonesian luxury phinisi liveaboards.
- Private charter on Komodo Signature or Komodo Prestige: price depends on season, route, guest count and length, typically suitable for families, groups of friends, or photographers seeking full control over itinerary.
State your approximate total budget or a per-person range so we can prioritise the right options rather than sending you unsuitable vessels or cabins.

Why Plan Through Lombok Diving & Komodo Luxury
Lombok & Gili specialists, eastern-Indonesia reach
We use Lombok and the Gili Islands as the natural first step:
- Gili Trawangan, Gili Air, Gili Meno: easy access from Bali and Lombok, suitable for:
- Beginner and intermediate divers.
- Families and couples combining diving with beach time.
- First-time Indonesia visitors before committing to a liveaboard.
- South Lombok & Belongas Bay: for advanced divers in season, with honest briefings about sea state, surface conditions and currents.
From there, we extend itineraries across:
- Bali: transfers via Padangbai, Serangan or Amed connections.
- Sumbawa & Moyo: used on some longer liveaboard routes between Lombok and Komodo.
- Komodo & Labuan Bajo: classic liveaboard region for manta encounters and high-energy currents in the right conditions.
- Raja Ampat: West Papua’s flagship liveaboard destination, rich biodiversity and varied topography.
Trip design is grounded in real transfer times, boat schedules and seasonal wind patterns, not wishful thinking.
Owned fleet and transparent standards
Because Komodo Luxury owns and operates Komodo Signature and Komodo Prestige, we can:
- Confirm realistic sailing routes that match your dates and season.
- Align dive planning with your group’s experience, not generic marketing promises.
- Coordinate private charters so photographers, families or special-interest groups control the pace and timing of dives (within safety limits).
We do not promise specific wildlife on any given date. Mantas, hammerheads, whale sharks and other pelagics are wild and seasonal; we discuss typical patterns but never guarantee sightings.
How We Design Your Dive Itinerary
1. Matching sites to your certification and currents
Different Indonesian regions have very different current profiles. In your enquiry, please mention how comfortable you are with:
- Drift dives and medium–strong current.
- Downcurrents and upwellings: relevant in parts of Komodo and some advanced Lombok sites.
- Negative entries: sometimes recommended at advanced offshore sites.
We typically advise:
- Open Water / limited experience: start in the Gilis or relaxed Lombok reefs, then add one of the calmer Komodo sectors on a liveaboard if dates and budget allow.
- Advanced with 30–50+ logged dives: more flexibility across Komodo’s higher-energy sites and some Belongas/Lombok south sites in suitable weather.
- Advanced plus deep/current specialties and 50–100+ logged dives: best positioned to enjoy the more exposed, current-prone sites safely.
If we feel a requested site such as The Magnet or intense Komodo channels is not appropriate for your level, we will say so clearly and offer safer, still-rewarding alternatives.
2. Multi-region trip structure
We combine Lombok-based diving and liveaboard legs into clear blocks:
- Lombok & Gilis module
- 3–6 nights. Local day diving, Gili reef and turtle dives, possible south-Lombok extension for more experienced divers.
- Transit & overland module
- Half to one day. Fast boat or domestic flight from Bali/Lombok to Labuan Bajo for Komodo, or onward to Sorong for Raja Ampat.
- Liveaboard module
- 4–11 nights aboard Komodo Signature or Komodo Prestige on scheduled or private-charter routes.
- Surface-interval module
- 1–3 land-based nights in Bali, Lombok or Labuan Bajo between dive blocks for recovery and flexibility in case of flight changes.
We always build in no-fly time after your final dive before domestic or international flights.
3. Example enquiry scenarios
These are purely illustrative — exact plans and prices are by quote:
- Beginner couple, 7–9 nights, July–August
- 3–4 nights on Gili Trawangan or Gili Air: Open Water course or intro dives.
- Transfer to Bali, then domestic flight to Labuan Bajo.
- 4–5-night Komodo cruise focusing on easier sites, manta cleaning stations in season, and plenty of reef life.
- Advanced group of 8, 10–12 nights, aiming for hammerheads
- 2–3 nights in south Lombok with Belongas Bay attempts during the typical hammerhead season (conditions permitting, sightings never guaranteed).
- Transfer via Lombok/Bali to Labuan Bajo.
- 7–9-night Komodo charter on Komodo Signature or Komodo Prestige, with currents-focused route, tailored to experience level and conditions.
- Family with mixed divers/non-divers, 10–14 nights
- 5–7 nights in the Gilis or Lombok: easy diving, snorkelling, pool time.
- Shorter Komodo cruise with family-friendly focus: snorkel options, shorter dives, optional guided treks and beach time.
To explore options like these, plan your trip with us via the enquiry form or send a quick outline by WhatsApp on +62 811-3823-875 and we’ll refine it together.
Indicative Trip Types & Who They Suit
| Trip type | Typical duration | Best suited for | Regions commonly combined |
|---|---|---|---|
| Lombok & Gili day diving | 1–5 days of diving | Beginners, casual divers, families, honeymooners wanting flexibility | Lombok, Gili Trawangan/Air/Meno |
| Advanced Lombok (e.g. Belongas Bay) | 1–3 dive days | Advanced, current-experienced divers in good physical condition | South Lombok plus Gili/Lombok base |
| Komodo liveaboard – scheduled | 4–7 nights | Intermediate–advanced divers, photographers, active couples/friends | Lombok/Gilis + Komodo via Labuan Bajo |
| Komodo private charter | 5–10 nights | Families, private groups, photographers needing flexible timing | Lombok/Gilis, Bali, Sumbawa, Komodo |
| Raja Ampat liveaboard | 7–11 nights | Intermediate–advanced divers, serious photographers | Standalone or combined with Bali/Lombok pre- or post-dive stays |
All durations and pairings are examples; actual itineraries depend on boat schedules, flight connections, and your preferred pace.
Safety, Conditions & Honest Expectations
Currents, depths and site choice
Indonesia’s currents are part of what makes it special, but also demand respect.
- Site depths and profiles: Any depths we mention in emails or calls are indicative; real dive profiles depend on tides, currents and your guide’s judgement on the day.
- Advanced sites: Places like south Lombok’s offshore points or Komodo’s highest-energy channels are not suitable for beginners, and sometimes not advisable even for experienced divers when conditions surge.
- On-the-day calls: Your cruise director and dive guides may change dive plans for safety based on real-time conditions, experience mix and visibility.
Wildlife is seasonal and never guaranteed
We will happily discuss typical patterns for:
- Manta rays around Komodo and Raja Ampat cleaning stations.
- Hammerhead encounters around certain Lombok offshore sites during parts of the dry season.
- Whale sharks and other pelagics on some longer routes.
However:
- Sightings of any specific species are never guaranteed.
- Seasons are based on past observation and remain approximate; ocean conditions shift year to year.
Our focus is on giving you realistic expectations and building itineraries with overall high-quality diving, not chasing one species at all costs.
Insurance and medical fitness
We strongly recommend:
- Current dive insurance covering you for planned depths and regions.
- Travel insurance covering trip interruption, medical evacuation and missed connections.
- Recent medical clearance if you have any relevant health conditions or have not dived in a long time.
We can advise on logistics, but do not sell insurance products directly. No one can pay to change what we publish; if you proceed with our partner they may pay us a referral fee at no extra cost to you.
Response Times & Booking Process
How we handle your Lombok liveaboard enquiry
Once you contact us via form, WhatsApp or email:
- Initial response: In most cases within 24 hours, often faster during office hours.
- Clarifying questions: We may ask about dates, certification, group size and budget if anything is unclear.
- Proposed options: We outline one or more combinations of:
- Lombok/Gili day diving blocks.
- Komodo / Raja Ampat liveaboard dates and indicative prices.
- Transfer/flight suggestions between regions.
- Refinement: You adjust nights, routes or vessel choice; we re-check availability and pricing.
- Reservation & payment: Once you confirm, we send payment instructions, deadlines and booking conditions.
Holding cabins and charters
Cabin availability on Komodo Signature and Komodo Prestige, and full-vessel private charters, is live and limited, particularly in:
- Komodo high season (often June–September).
- Raja Ampat high season (often October–April).
We can often place a short hold on a cabin or charter slot while you finalise flights and internal decisions, subject to boat policy and season. Specific hold durations and payment schedules are confirmed in writing at the time of booking.
Lombok Diving WhatsApp: How We Plan in Real Time
For many guests, the easiest way to start is a short WhatsApp message:
- Number: +62 811-3823-875
- Best for:
- Quick availability checks.
- Clarifying certification and suitable sites.
- Refining trip dates and routes without long emails.
To speed things up, paste something like:
“Hi, we’re 2 Advanced divers with ~60 dives, looking at July/August 2027. Interested in Gili/Lombok + a 5–7 night Komodo cruise. Budget around [your budget] per person. Any suggested dates/routes?”
We can then switch to email for full itineraries and official documents if you prefer. At any point you can also use the website form or plan your trip via this page if you prefer a more structured enquiry.
FAQs: Contact & Booking
How do I book Lombok diving or a liveaboard with you?
Send us an enquiry via the form on this page, WhatsApp +62 811-3823-875, or email sales@komodoluxury.com with your dates, certification level, group size, regions of interest (Lombok, Gili, Komodo, Bali, Raja Ampat), and approximate budget. We reply with available options, indicative pricing and next steps. Once you choose an option, we issue a formal offer with payment terms so you can secure your day diving or liveaboard.
How fast do you reply to a Lombok liveaboard enquiry?
We aim to respond to all enquiries within 24 hours, and often faster during Indonesian business hours. Complex multi-region itineraries or requests across peak dates can take slightly longer while we confirm liveaboard schedules and transfers, but we’ll update you on progress so you know what to expect.
What certification do I need for Lombok, the Gilis, Komodo or Raja Ampat?
For the Gilis and easier Lombok sites, Open Water or equivalent is usually sufficient, with options for intro dives and courses. For more advanced Lombok sites like Belongas Bay and stronger-current Komodo or Raja Ampat sites, we generally recommend Advanced Open Water (or higher), experience in currents, and a reasonable number of recent dives. Exact site choice always depends on your personal experience, daily conditions and the cruise director’s safety judgment.
Can you customise a private charter itinerary?
Yes. On Komodo Signature and Komodo Prestige private charters we can tailor the route, focus (photography, family-friendly, pelagic-focused, macro) and daily rhythm within safe and realistic limits for the season and region. Tell us your group’s experience, target species or scenes, and preferred trip length in your enquiry, and we’ll propose charter routes that fit your timing, budget and comfort level.
Can I plan everything via Lombok diving WhatsApp instead of email?
Yes. Many guests start and finish their planning via WhatsApp on +62 811-3823-875. You can share dates, certifications, group size and budget there, and we’ll send you route ideas, availability and voice notes if useful. For the actual booking confirmation and payment instructions we may also send formal documents by email so you have everything clearly recorded.
